Main Street in the Magic Kingdom

Main Street USA, inspired by Walt Disney’s home town, is designed to resemble an idealised turn-of-the-20th-century street. As the front of the park, it will be the first themed area all guests will walk into.

Here, at the start of your day, you can find:
1) Characters
2) Shopping
3) Guest Services
4) Food
5) Entertainment

Characters
Within the main square, you will find several characters. The Main Street Theatre houses Magic Mickey Mouse and Tinkerbell, while around the flag pole you’ll find random characters like Marie.
It’s a great chance to get your day started with these character meet and greets. See the Walt Disney app for times and characters located in Main-street USA.

Shopping
As the main shopping area, the Emporium takes up the full left side of the street to Cinderella’s Castle. The best place to find something to take home, the Emporium is a great place to spend some time indoor in air conditioning.
Top Tip: leave the shopping till the end of the night when you’re leaving. This means you’ll leave with your goods and not carry them around all day and while you’re shopping, you can avoid the rush of the leaving crowd.

Guest Services
Guest services is the place to go if you need help with magic bands, cast compliments etc. You will also find, just after entering the park and before the train station, you can rent strollers, wheelchairs and lockers for the day.

Food
All along Main Street, you can find a selection of food such as:
– Tony’s Town Square Restaurant; Italian food, themed after Lady and a Tramp
– Main Street Bakery; MKs very own Starbucks
– Casey Corner; a quick service for hot dogs, fries and corn dogs
– Crystal Palace; a character buffet with Winnie the Pooh and friends
– Plaza Ice Cream Parlour; a corner ice cream shop famous for Mickeys Pants sundae
– The Plaza Restaurant; a sit-down restaurant serving classic American breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Entertainment
Within the Main Street area, there are several ways to be entertained. From Dapper Dans to Main Street Trolley Show, there’s music to keep your toes tapping.
Here is also the main place for the Festival of Fantasy Parade and Happily Ever After FireWorks to be viewed, along Main Street and right up into the Hub in front of Cinderella’s Castle.

There’s always something happening on Main Street USA and it’s the ideal entrance to a kingdom full of magic.

I love getting a caramel candy apple and watching the Dapper Dans sing or strolling through the Emporium at the end of the night while everyone else rushes for the exit.

What’s your favourite thing about Main Street? Do you have a favourite snack or character experience?

It’s truly a great street to walk down.
